I don't know about you but I am glad to live in this day and age and in the country that I live in. Certainly after reading the latest book of Amanda Bedzrah. And especially as a woman.
When I was asked to participate in Amanda Bedzhrah's blogtour, I did not hesitate. Already having reviewed her first Christian fiction book Leah, I looked forward to this second instalment in her series based on Woman in the Bible. And I was not disappointed. For a non-church goer and non-Christian that might seem strange, but Bedzhrah's books can be enjoyed as adventurous, historic stories as well. And I am certainly a believer of equality and letting people live their lives they want to as long as no-one gets hurt.
In Bathsheba's age not only were women hurt all the time, they kind of expected this and if the consequences of being raped resulted in a pregnancy, they quite often expected to be killed. Say what? Yep.
Most of the time reading this book, I was filled with anger of the injustice of it all. But then, something beautiful would occur and you would be swept away in the intoxicating colours and breathless scenes that Bedzrah can describe as no other. Becoming Queen Bedrag reads like a train and leaves you breathless in the end. I already look forward to her next book!
